SCUBA Diving & Snorkeling Guides

SCUBA Diving and Snorkeling on Little Corn Island

Many of the island’s visitors come here for great scuba and snorkeling activities, and Little Corn does not disappoint. We are lucky to have a healthy reef system just a few minutes from the coastline, with the chance to see sharks, sea turtles, rays, dolphins, and much more.

SCUBA Diving Shops

Little Corn is a great diving destination! There are a variety of about 20 dive sites around the island, as well as the famous ‘Blowing Rock’ which is located 16 miles away and to which special trips can be organized.
Diving in Little Corn is ideal for all levels as it’s not extremely deep and does not typically have strong currents. It’s a great place to learn to dive or to advance your dive certification level. Prices are also competitive compared to other popular dive destinations in the rest of the Caribbean.

Dolphin Dive – Located at Delfines Hotel, is a full-service PADI dive shop, and convenient to most of the local shops and restaurants. Dolphin Dive is the longest-running island dive shop and their experience and professionalism shows! Visit Dolphin Dive for more details.

Little Dive Shack By The Sea – Located at Dereks Place, on the Northeast side of the island. click here for more info.

Las Palmeras Dive Center – Located at the hotel by the same name. You can find them here: Las Palmeras Dive Center.

Snorkeling (and Private Transport)

There are a number of local operators who offer snorkeling trips from around $20 per person for 2 hours. Ask along the beach on the east side of the island for more details or check with your hotel. You will generally have the best experience if you go with a guide, and they will also provide you with equipment as well, included in their price. Or you can snorkel on your own, right off the beach from either the east side or north side. The beaches in front of Yemaya resort and Fry Fish Bar are great for beach snorkeling (but always be aware of weather conditions, as much is it the waters around Little Corn are calm much of the year, as it can also get choppy at times).

– Captain Elbert, right on the main village path just before Desi, when you’re walking away (south) from the wharf area. A quick note about spearfishing
Please note that spearfishing is illegal for tourists on the island. Penalties for being caught are 500 cordobas for first offense, second offense is 5000 cordobas and confiscation of equipment.

Although this law may not always be widely enforced, and some locals will still offer to take you out spearfishing if it means them making some money from the trip. But we have a small reef ecosystem here and we can already see the number of apex predators (groupers, snappers, etc.) reducing on the reef. Please respect the local environment and leave your spears at home.
